At Vashon Schools Foundation, we work to ensure every child has access to quality education by bridging gaps in public school funding and empowering students with the resources and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential. We are committed to fostering a thriving educational community by partnering with families, educators, and supporters to provide rich, equitable learning experiences that prioritize student well-being and inspire lifelong success.
Funding Commitment: $380,750 Thanks to the success of last year’s gala, GiveBIG, ongoing fundraising and our monthly givers, VSF has committed $380,750 to fund academic excellence, equity, and enriching programs for Vashon students and families.
Family Engagement Coordinator A full-time role connecting families with teachers, district events, and resources so every student can succeed.
Academic Intervention in Reading and Math Targeted support for elementary, middle, and high school students to strengthen skills and close learning gaps.
Literacy Curriculum Coach at Chautauqua Supports the new literacy curriculum rollout with a specialist class in the school garden and coaching for teachers.
McMurray Middle School Counselor Covers the funding gap to maintain two full-time counselors, sustaining critical social-emotional and academic support.
FamilyLink and StudentLink Community partnerships that expand learning options for all students.
Enrichment Programming Artists and Scientists in Schools bring hands-on arts and science experiences into classrooms, while the Journeymen Youth Leadership program builds belonging and confidence for high schoolers.
For the 2024–2025 school year, VSF played a vital role in closing the gap between what our community expects from public education and what state funding provides. VSF invested $188,000 directly into our schools—supporting essential programs and services that enrich students’ learning and well-being.
At the same time, strong fundraising throughout the 2025 calendar year positioned us for continued impact. These additional resources are enabling support for the 2025–2026 school year while thoughtfully reserving funds to help sustain programs into 2026–2027.
